I’m not really one to curse. I have been known to occasionally let one fly when a black lab is making his dinner of the couch, particularly the second time around.
But these two F-words are definitely NOT profane. I started to using them as a mantra for each day and my life is on a path so straight and narrow that Kate Moss probably couldn’t fit through it.
FOCUS: Follow One Course Until Success
I’m not gonna try to pull the wool over your pretty blue ones (or green or brown or lavender if you will) and say that I’ve mastered the process, but I’m so far from where I started that you’d think I was a super-marathon runner.
If you feel like you have adult onset ADD, I feel ya. Distracted used to be my middle name. Gwendolyn Distracted Whitfield. Has a certain, unproductive ring to it, doesn’t it?
But, there is hope. In this episode of The Brighter Side, we’re talking about my 2 new favorite F-Words: Focus and Follow-Through.
Shiny Object Syndrome is a real thing. If you constantly feel like your chasing squirrels, remember that following one course until success is the antidote.
Now, it’s time to take action in the comments below and share what your One Big Thing is and what steps you are going to take to make these 2 amazing F-words your new mantra!
Share in as much detail as you can, because someone here is probably going through something very similar and it helps to know that you’re not alone! Today, with your kind words and supportive thoughts, can help change someone else’s life.
Thank you so much for sharing your unique insights and helping to make this space the most supportive, brightest light in the web-o-sphere!
Until next time.

You have no idea how much this describes me to a T. I have ADD. Always have and always will. I’m okay with it. I kind of like it. The downside is the shiny object syndrome you mentioned. I feel validated when other people have it too. My inner circle people are focused and put together making them frustrated with me at times.
I understand your college dilemmas. Made me giggle. I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. I’m 53, so I think I still have time to figure it out.
Thank you for this insightful video.
Btw…beautiful voice. Hugs.
